Methyltestosterone

Methyltestosterone represent a synthetic oral anabolic steroid known in bodybuilding for long time.

This drug is often used for medical purpose, for treating patients with lack of testosterone in the body and advanced breast cancer.

Methyltestosterone is well known in bodybuilding as supplement that is taken principally to enhance the body and stimulate the psyche, increasing aggression. It also improves performance for short duration.

As the most oral anabolic steroid Methyltestosterone have the proprieties to convert to estrogen in the fatty tissues. This fact will cause such side effects as gynecomastia and water retention. In order to avoid these negative effects some bodybuilders take it in combination with Arimidex or Tamoxifen. Because Methyltestosterone is not a very potent anabolic steroid it is also often combined with thyroxin or growth hormone.

Methyltestosterone is also characterized with relatively short half life. The gain of weight is not pronounced. Methyltestosterone is toxic on liver.

Female bodybuilders/athletes are not recommended to take this steroid, because it provokes a lot of side effects, as: deepening of voice, hoarseness, excess hair growth, enlarged clitoris, and irregular menstrual cycles.

In most cases methyltestosterone taken by male bodybuilders at low doses dose not provoke any side effects. Possible side effects are: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea headaches, acne, oily skin, loss of hair, gynecomastia.
