Phil Heath signs a contract extension with Weider Publications
Phil Heath, one of bodybuilding’s youngest and brightest stars, signed a multi-year contract extension with Weider Publications today. Heath, who turned 30 years old last December, has been a Weider athlete since 2005.
“It’s always been a great experience to be a part of the Weider/AMI organization,” Heath said. “Just like last time I signed, and the first time, I just get excited knowing I get to continue my career with this company. FLEX is the number-one-selling bodybuilding magazine in the world, and all over the world people get to see articles with me in them, and get to know a little bit about me as an athlete and a person. Traveling and meeting those fans has been a great experience.”

Bodybuilding.com Announces Free 2010 Arnold Classic & Internationals Webcast

Boise, ID – February 8, 2010 – Bodybuilding.com, the Internet’s most-visited bodybuilding and fitness site and largest retailer of nutritional supplements, is once again offering a free all-access webcast featuring the 2010 Arnold Classic men’s professional bodybuilding championships and the Women’s professional bodybuilding, figure and fitness International championships.
Bodybuilding.com hosts Dan Solomon and Bob Cicherillo will provide live on-stage and backstage coverage of these ground-breaking events. Those unable to tune in live will be able to access webcast replays and additional event coverage on Bodybuilding.com until March 20, 2010.
The Arnold Classic is an annual competition named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, originating in 1989 with help from friend, Jim Lorimer. Today, it is the most lucrative competition in bodybuilding, with a number of large prizes and serious bragging rights for the year. Arnold, Stallone Crown Iris Kyle Ms. International
Winning an unprecedented fifth Ms. International title hung in the balance as four of the top six took their place to the side of the stage, leaving Yaxeni Oriquen-Garcia and Iris Kyle alone. Both women have been dominant in their sport, especially in Columbus with four wins apiece.
As the crowd awaited Lonnie Tepper’s announcement on who would be the runner-up, both women had a moment and exchanged a few words. “We said congratulations, we both look great and we love each other,” Kyle recalled.
Oriquen-Garcia’s name was the one called, and Kyle once again found herself on top of the women’s bodybuilding world. She was presented with $25,000, a Tony Nowak jacket and the first place trophy by not only Arnold Schwarzenegger, but actor Sylvester Stallone. A star-studded special evening, indeed.
“Iris is just cranking,” legendary bodybuilder Bill Grant said. “She’s won every major show.”
Finishing third to sixth, respectively, were Debi Laszewski, Lisa Aukland, Betty Pariso and Dayana Cadeau.

Kai Greene wins Arnold Classic for second year in a row
In a decision that brought a roar from the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, Kai Greene was announced the 2010 Arnold Classic defending champion, edging Phil Heath in second, Branch Warren in third, Dexter Jackson in fourth, Toney Freeman in fifth and Ronny Rockel in sixth.

The winner of the 2009 Arnold Sports Festival
The 21st Arnold Classic, the premiere event in men’s professional bodybuilding, hosted the sport’s elite competing for top prize money and the coveted Audemars Piguet watch. Branch Warren, Victor Martinez and more compete on the historic Veterans Memorial stage.
This spectacular event annually features the presentation of the Arnold Lifetime Achievement Award, world-class entertainment, and the final event of The Arnold Strongman Contest. A total of 13 bodybuilders participated in the 2009 Arnold Classic competition. US Bodybuilder Kai Greene won the 1st price and recived a check about $130,000. Congratulations. Victor Martinez of the United States won 2nd place. And Branch Warren placed 3rd in this year’s Arnold Classic.
The 2009 Arnold Sports Festival
The 2009 Arnold Sports Festival, the world’s largest multi-sport fitness weekend, took place on March 6-8. With 17,000 competing athletes, from Bodybuilding to Ping Pong, the Arnold Sports Festival is the largest sports event in the World, nearly 2X the size of the Olympics.
