The Arnold Classic is an annual competition named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, originating in 1989 with help from friend, Jim Lorimer. Today, it is the most lucrative competition in bodybuilding, with a number of large prizes and serious bragging rights for the year. Defending champion Kai Green and Dexter Jackson (winner in 2005, 2006 and 2008), are among a field of 12 male bodybuilding pros who will battle it out for the coveted Arnold Classic crown. Over 50 leading women will be taking the stage including bodybuilders Dayana Cadeau and Iris Kyle, fitness athletes Adela Garcia and Tanji Johnson and figure competitors Monica Brant and Nicole Wilkins Lee.
The Arnold Classic is now part of an even bigger event, The Arnold Sports Festival. This event hosts the largest multi-sport festival in the nation with more than 18,000 athletes competing in 44 different sports and events and a three day expo featuring top industry celebrities promoting all the latest health and fitness products. Although those at home may not be able to experience this portion of the event, they will be able to enjoy the free Bodybuilding.com Webcast of the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) Pro Shows.
The 2010 Arnold Classic will be webcast live from Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio. You can watch the Ms. International, Ms. Fitness International and Ms. Figure International at 7:00 pm EST on Friday, March 5th. Tune in the next day, Saturday, March 7th at 12:00 pm for Men’s Prejudging and again at 7:00 pm EST for the Men’s Finals.
